John Balistreri and his project SLOGUN are well-known to those interested in the industrial subculture. A Breed Apart was originally released on cassette by Slaughter Productions (SPT 86) in 1996, and it was packaged in a beautifully designed oversize sleeve with a vellum overlay featuring a photograph taken by serial killer Harvey Glattman of one of his victims. Mass murders and crimes have been used to finely illustrate uncompromising tracks full of hatred against society, the sound of which provokes terrible thoughts of mass destruction.

The record has been pressed on 140 gr black vinyl with black center labels and is housed in a plastic-lined black inner sleeve and a black cardboard sleeve with silver silkscreening, reproducing the original artwork. It also includes an insert on transparent/white paper. Limited to 99 copies.
