Thriving in the underground spheres for the last 10 years, US entity SANDWORM has been a consistent purveyor of blatantly genuine Raw Black Metal. Four years following the debut full-length, the duo returns with a new tome of wrathful sonic distress. Entitled Revenge of Bygone Clans, it captures all the elements which forged SANDWORM's career so far yet enhanced on both songwriting and aesthetical vision like a razor-sharp dagger, ultimately conceiving the group’s most memorable material thus far. A crude lo-fi sound permeates the seven hymns at hand without ever obfuscating the strength and fiery quality of the arrangements, instead bringing forward an enthralling arcane aura. Such atmosphere is manifested on the storming riffing. A perfect combination of aggression and melody, an imposing electrical discharge is matched by rasping wails and screams, wholly driven by a fast rhythmic pulse which grants the record an overall trance-inducing effect.
