A nunatak (from Inuit nunataq) is the summit or ridge of a mountain that protrudes from an ice field or glacier that otherwise covers most of the mountain or ridge. The word is of Greenlandic origin and has been used in English since the 1870s.

Cracking the glacial heart of darkness by clenched fists of ethereal immortality, born from the haze of evaporated frost spirit, rises the one who creeps along the mountain ridge, haunts the minds of lost travelers, that ruinous entity rasped by enchantment of NUNATAKR. Making its debut atop the tower peak of ancient stone, NUNATAKR writhes in the dissonant majesty of its ice ensorcelled audial sorcery, a bleak manifestation of raw black metal choked with harsh tremolo melodies. NUNATAKR's debut incantation contains three spells of relentless frost fury, a chaotic excursion into an emaciated soundscape of white noise blizzard hiss, manic rasp blood oration, clean trance vocal passages, sombre slow melody sections and a wind wounded atmosphere of the loneliest evocation.
