This 2023 tape of WILL OVER MATTER (a.k.a. Sami Ketunnen a.k.a. Harald Mentor of RIDE FOR REVENGE etc.) offers half an hour of instrumental electronic minimalism. To describe the material on this tape, one could name drop early rhythmic industrial à la ESPLENDOR GEOMETRICO or the crude electronic rhythmic signals of MIKA VAINIO. However, after 15 years and multiple albums, WILL OVER MATTER has developed its own spirit of sound that escapes many of the trappings of contemporary industrial & electronics music, and manages to capture the old manually played primitive feel that is missing from many current day edited and carefully synched music. This is recognizable as WILL OVER MATTER, but at the same time unlike any previous release on Freak Animal.
